OTB Summer League 7–11 Beginner

Service Description

Future Fishers League is our club/team program run like a youth sports league—coaching, teamwork, and friendly competition that rewards effort and improvement. Junior Beginner is perfect for new anglers who want a safe, supportive start with consistent practice. Weekly schedule: After-school sessions run 5:00–7:00 PM (2 hours). The season also includes additional weekend competition days for extended fishing and special opportunities. Weekend days may include full-day fishing, local mentors, and select opportunities to jump on boats or participate in local tournaments (as available). We fish land-access locations like beaches, bays, docks, piers, banks, and (when appropriate) safe jetty areas. Locations vary within North Padre and surrounding areas. Meet-up details are sent in advance. We stay flexible so we can go where the fish are and never limit a fisher’s opportunity. Youth learn fundamentals: safe casting/spacing, simple knots and rigs, bait basics, reading basic structure, fish handling, ethics, and stewardship. League challenges and competitions create opportunities to earn prizes throughout the season (gear, gift cards, and Foundation swag). Registration includes a custom League fishing shirt/hat. We provide all necessary fishing equipment (rods, reels, tackle, bait as needed, and program gear). Youth may bring their own labeled gear if preferred. Weeknights: bring a refillable water bottle; snack recommended. Weekend/full-day days: packed lunch + drinks required (unless an optional lunch/drinks add-on is offered for that day). Transportation: limited transportation may be available; transportation can also be arranged separately if needed (limited availability). Scholarships: income-based scholarships may be available (apply online). Weather & Safety: locations/times/activities may change for safety; weather cancellations may be rescheduled or offered as make-up options when possible. Note: participation in local tournaments beyond scheduled League competition days may require parents/guardians to pay entry fees.
